Warren Properties have made a bold move in the current economic climate by commencing site works at their housing development site at Chapel Road, Newry.
Planning permission was granted earlier this year for a residential scheme including 6no. 3 storey townhouses and 2no. detached dwellings though a decision was subsequently taken to stall commencing of building works until the market for housing picked up.
Since that time, the local housing market has experienced a sharp downtown due to a combination of falling prices, financial uncertainty and a lack of loan funds.
Warren Properties believe that the market should now stabilise in the coming months with the expectation that more liquidity will be introduced into the marketplace. We want to play our part ino matter how small in building confidence in the local housing market and hence our decision to commence on site at Chapel Road. We would hope that the site's excellent location close to the city centre, local amenities, schools etc coupled with what we believe will be an excellent housing product at a very affordable price will result in demand / sales.
